A mom, two schools, and a window that had to work.

I'm a mom with kids at two different schools across town. My first courier contract required me to be available from 10am to 7pm — later than I really wanted to work, since that window ate into the small stretch of time between when my girls got out of school and their bedtime.

It was flex, on-demand within that window, and they gave me an income range to expect — but I'd never know from week to week if I'd land at the low end or the high end, since it depended entirely on how many pings came, and when.

I registered for various on-demand platforms to stack along with it, but that would still be a day full of waiting on pings and deciding which ones were worth taking.

Next, I found a platform closer to what I actually wanted: pick up a set of packages together, deliver them, and go home. But even there, I wouldn't find out how many packages were in my batch — or what I'd actually get paid — until I showed up that morning, after I'd already agreed to the day.

Intentional Logistics started as the answer to that problem — a way to build reliable income around the hours I actually had, instead of hoping the hours would work out. That's still the standard every route is built to.
